Thinking about keeping bees but not sure where to start? This Jump Start Into Beekeeping class is an in-person, beginner-focused mini introduction designed to give you the confidence and foundational knowledge you need for your first season with bees.
Led by experienced beekeeper Emily Mueller of Mueller Honey Bee, this class walks you through the essential steps of getting started successfully. You’ll learn how to properly install both a package of bees and a nucleus colony (nuc), understand the tools for beekeeping and how to use them, and gain practical skills for your first hive inspections.
This will also cover identifying common issues, basic pest management, and what to look for inside the hive so you can support healthy, thriving colonies from day one. If you’re planning to get bees this year and want a quick, mini foundation to build upon before starting, this class is perfect for you!

Feel free to bring your own snacks and beverage (no alcohol, please!). The Lodge also sells pop and water for $1 each. Chips and cookies will be provided, as well.
