This is a child ticket only for the two part series for Beginner Beekeepers. Learn the basics about beekeeping and how to keep your bees alive. Children must be 8-16 years to purchase this ticket. Infants are welcome with parent and free to attend.

Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm start time for both classes

Feel free to bring yourself a snack and drink.
Coffee and water will be provided.

The first part (April 19th) includes:

    • Where to buy bees
    • Placement of hive in your yard
  • The Inner Workings
    • Queens, Workers, Drones

    • When to add boxes
    • How and why to feed
    • County Inspector

The second part (April 26th) includes:

  • Inspecting
    • What's the purpose of inspection
    • What are you looking for in an inspection?
    • Can I just have bees and leave them alone?
    • What's on this frame? Q/A?
    • Winter storage
    • Overwintered hives (aka 2nd year beekeepers)
  • Pests and Disease

These classes are a very basic Introduction to Beekeeping. I highly encourage you to join your local Beekeeping Associations, watch endless Youtube videos, sign up for beekeeping magazines, and read every article you can to help further your knowledge on this topic.
